Damn, I thought Alistair Cooke died years ago when he stopped being host of Masterpiece Theatre and whatserface took over. Jean Marsh? Was it Jean Marsh? Or did she take over Mystery! when Unca Vincent kicked off? Now I gotta look it up. I don't have time for this. I have to get J. to the hospital so he can get his intestines scooped out of his groin and stuck back in the proper place.

Huh. It's Russell Baker who hosts MT now, and Diana Rigg did Mystery.

Jan Hooks played Jean Marsh as the hostin the "House of Buttafuoco" Masterpiece Theatre sketch on SNL years ago, with Julia Sweeney as Amy Fisher and Danny DeVito as Joey.

Me and [livejournal.com profile] puckgoodfellow should write a book about being geographically peripheral to the whole Buttafuoco thing. He used to work across the street from Joey's chop shopauto repair garage.

Only in my journal can I segue from Alistair Cooke to Joey Buttafuoco.

Now I will run around and go crazy until its time to call the taxi.

We're home. They intubated him even though they said they wouldn't. I got him a stuffed bunny. He got vicodin. The surgery took less than an hour. The hospital coffee shop gave me the most ghetto tuna salad sammich EVAR. The anesthesiologist was so totally hot and looked like Andre Braugher and had this west indian accent and I was like OH, DR. DEXTER ST CROIX, GIVE ME YOUR BIG JAMAICAN JUNK or at least thats what I thought while he was talking. At one point they paged Dr. Roboto. Later they paged Dr. McCoy. J. wondered if he would come and wave saltshakers over him and pronounce him cured.

J.'s sitting there watching Stargate reruns and holding the bunny to his boo boo whenever he coughs. They only shaved ONE ball. They couldn't give the man some symmetry?

This
