Okay, flist...
Mar. 31st, 2011 05:56 pmlet me know how this reads, before I print and stuff it in their mailbox. I'm so angry right now that I'm not exactly coherent and I REALLY want to get totally fucking snarky.
To whom it may concern
The two large dogs that reside at your address are habitually loose in the neighborhood. I am unaware if this is by your own design, but please be advised that having unleashed dogs running free is against county and town ordinances. The excrement they deposit on your neighbor's lawns is your responsibility, as well as the damage they cause with their digging, and the menacing presence they pose to people who do not welcome their presence.
Your two dogs were in my yard, among others, this evening for the better part of an hour. I called the number listed on their tags but there was no answer or capacity to leave a message for you. This is unacceptable.
If you are unable or unwilling to keep your dogs restrained in a lawful manner, be advised that several of your neighbors are inclined to call the authorities and have the dogs removed from your care--or lack thereof, in this case.
If you cannot afford fencing, there are alternatives available. Cable lines are inexpensive and humane, and a far better alternative to having your dogs be the victim of traffic accidents, which is liable to happen unless you step up and take better supervision of your animals.
Sincerely,
A Neighbor
And I'm gonna include a copy of the town ordinance.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Proofreading?
