I have said this before and I feel like saying it again.

I love abortion.

I've never had one.

I've never been pregnant.

But I love abortion. I love that its medically available where I live. I love that I have that option. I love that I do not have to become an incubator against my will.

I do not want to give birth. I will not ever give birth. If I become pregnant, I will not give birth. I will terminate the pregnancy as soon as possible. I will do it safely and legally in a medical establishment by whatever procedure is deemed best to undergo at that juncture.

I choose.

Not them.

If only my area had more accessible abortions...but I live in fucking Missouri. I don't care. I will drive like hell to abort anything.

Keep abortion fun and easy!

Fun?

Okay, you ever had a gonorrhea culture taken from your urethra, son? Was that fun for you, having them twirl a mascara brush up in your piss slit?

Fun. Right.

Does shit like the Tiller assassination ever happen down there? Or is the news all about that boganette who made up the story about the shooting?

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

Whoops. Wrong camp.

Also, more seriously? TWO THUMBS UP to this post. I agree completely.

I think abortion is pretty great, especially the techniques we have now.

Hear fucking hear!

yeah, this is where i brought out the "i'm glad your opinions aren't law" card:

"There are options other than vaginal / penile sexual congress. There are also methods where your male partner of choice can be assured as to not ejaculate sperm cells. You could also have various surgical procedures that will result in the permanent loss of your ability to conceive. Your options are not simply limited to wild wanton sex without consequence versus chastity until after menopause."

no, he's actually advocating it & acting like it never fails. i said that even more than one BC method doesn't add up to 100% (& i'm pretty over his use of five-dollar words):

"Lest we beleaguer the point; no you will never get to 100%. But then again hard drives in computers rarely crash; it doesn't mean you don't keep backup copies of your data on multiple media if you want to protect it.

Just because one can do something doesn't mean one should do something. Thus, bringing full circle, the concept that just because humans can engage in sexual congress with each other doesn't make it a wise idea nor one free from the responsibilities associated with that action. No amount of rationalization after the fact negates the fact that planning ahead and being preventative in multiple ways is the wiser of the courses should one wish to avoid being pregnant. It a simple cause and effect matrix; if you don't wish for the effect to present itself then you should avoid the cause. One cannot decouple the possibility of a burn from sticking their hand in a fire no matter the precautions taken, but if you must stick your hand in the fire then taking every step possible to minimize the chances of being burned is the prudent course of action. One also cannot, after having burned their hand by voluntarily sticking said hand in a fire, claim to be a victim of the fire or those who set it."

Sometimes you need to wipe or defrag a hard drive.

Sometimes you need to amputate a limb that has been badly burned.

SOMETIMES YOU NEED YOUR UTERINE CONTENTS EVACUATED.

Ask him how often he jerks off.

He sounds like Chris-chan. Does he RECYCLE HIS SPERM?

I'm so glad that I live in a country where this really isn't an issue. It's so infuriating that you guys have to put up with all this crap.

[identity profile] sacharine.livejournal.com 2009-06-03 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow. not to mention, sometimes a woman gets raped and doesn't really have a say in the whole prevention matter.
