This sums up my feelings on Tim Tebow

This goes for all athletes who whoop it up for a deity before and after a game. Really? REALLY? All the bad shit going on in the world and you have the AUDACITY to claim that your imaginary sky fairy is MICROMANAGING THE WAY YOU HANDLE A BALL? Oh, hubris.
Roger Ebert's various commentaries on the difference between vertical and horizontal prayers are applicable here, but since Tebow and his ilk likely consider Roger to be a godless heathen, I'll direct the following at them. Maybe they've read it in the past, but I doubt it resonated:
Matthew 6:5-6: "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."
