If you haven't seen The Magdalene Sisters yet, do. Immediately.

Then freak out that the last Magdalene Laundry was closed in 1996.

Although I left the Church long before this movie came out it reaffirmed that decision a hundred times over.

Me too. And I have a particular antipathy for many orders of nuns, after spending a year in a Catholic college that was rather shady.

actually very similar to that, except it was for rich little girls, we had alot of that and alot of schooling too tho, so it wasnt all domestic, we learned fencing, languages, history, etc, but yes we were also taught to be ladies, etiquette, manners, cooking, cleaning, to be quiet, seen not heard, to be good wives, yup yup, and we cleaned like they did in the movie, washed other's clothes and stuff like that. the worst part was i think that i was not alowed to see my family for 8 years.

and people ask why i am so fucked up. :p
