siannanI missed SNL (something I have done religiously for, oh, the past 8 years or so), so anyone who can link me to a capture of Ashlee Simpson's fuckup will earn my thanks.
I got new pajamas. Flannel with pinup girls all over them. Of course I will wear them in public as I do with all my pajamas because I am such the Hefnerian. FLANNEL FLANNEL FLANNEL! I saw this chick once wearing Fat Albert flannel pajama bottoms and I wanted to ask her where she got them but she looked like such a cunt I didn't bother. I am kicking myself for that, along with the time in Flushing when I saw this lovely Korean lady wearing a blouse printed with little Hello Kitty heads all over and little red buttons down the front and I didn't ask her where she got it. It's been over 10 years and I will never forget that blouse, and the way the temperature was just right that day, and how I went and stuffed my face with scallion pancakes from a street vendor once I got off the Q44 bus because I was so disappointed (and woozy because the doctor had taken a mess of blood samples from me and the last thing I needed was to pass out on the subway).
I used to have sneakers with Budweiser labels all over them but they were damned uncomfortable and I hate beer. They were de rigeur at parties, even if I ended up with blisters on my Achilles.
You reach a point in life and you fail to see the need to wear uncomfortable shoes no matter how good they look. It happens about the same time that your bowel movements take on more significance.
Don't get me started on pantyhose.
