J. brought home a new phone and built a little thingy for it on the wall and it looks superb.

Of course now I am going to take the old phone and cover it with glitter or something.

ETA: Am I the only person left on the planet who believes in the superiority of landlines?

Nope. I love land lines, too. I'm a receptionist and am so fucking sick of people calling their attorneys on cell phones. They'll be like, "Hel-- th- is Mi--- G for Jo- S--". I'm like "What, you're breaking up". Then they yell at me like I'm the moron. Use a land line for your business calls, fucker.

I personally have never owned a cell phone and don't plan to. There is no reason why people need to be able to annoy me at every waking moment of the day, and I can always find a pay phone if need be.

I also don't need a phone to take photos, read my email, and wipe my ass. I have a camera, computer, and fistful of Charmin for such things. Remember when you could just pick up a phone and say hello? Now you have to punch in all kinds of shit just to answer the damn thing.

I have an iPhone. It takes photos, has email, and other stuff. I hate it though. I wish I had never gotten a cell phone. It drives me nuts and I don't even answer it when I'm in public. That is, unless it's important. It never is.

We had to get a cordless to get out answering machine, but our mainline is still a landline. Still has the best connection too.
