Some of you know
jameth. Some of you like him, some of you hate him, some of you are saying "Who the fuck is
jameth and what the fuck is Auntie talking about now?"
jameth is one of several candidates running for positions on the LiveJournal advisory board. This is a good thing--many LJ users have complained about the lack of user input since LJ was taken over by the great Russian menace. As the candidate primarily driven by the supreme power of LULZ,
jameth represents the best hope for all LiveJournal users to continue in that time-honored vein of snark, debauchery, tomfoolery, and general shenanigans and fun.
It's become a meme that such-and-such is SERIOUS BUSINESS. Well, in this case, it is.
jameth is outspoken, gregarious, driven, and graced with a wicked sense of absurdist humor. He's been on LiveJournal for relative eons, either participated in or been at the fringe of various historic dramasurges, and throughout it all has maintained an honest, lighthearted outlook as he reports on his findings and perceptions. He's dedicated to both his on- and off-line communities, and is unafraid of controversy and open discourse. He does not ban or block people from reading or commenting on his entries, and welcomes input of all kinds. He listens and will do his best to preserve the fun and freedom of expression that LiveJournal can and should represent to all users.
He has the experience to represent the user bloc: a degree in Political Science, time spent as president of a non-profit advisory board, and currently works for the City of San Francisco as well as volunteering at a local health clinic in his spare time.
jameth has his finger on the pulse of both the local and online political currents and is more than capable of representing the eclecticism of his constituency.
He also is a staunch proponent of delicious cake.
That being said, as one of
jameth's Public Relations managers, and more importantly as a fellow LiveJournal user dedicated to spreading guffaws and chortles and freedom to perpetuate them, I entreat--nay, I implore you all to vote for
jameth. Polls are open until May 29th, and since I won't be around much next week I am hoping you all do the right thing in days to come.
